Special Educational Needs & Disability
Our school vision is to ‘grow a loving, happy and flourishing community‘. This means that we believe all pupils have a right to a first class education, and we work hard to support all student’s needs and ensure that, no matter what, they are able to engage with our curriculum.
The school places a high priority on developing parental links. Partnership with parents plays a key role in promoting a culture of co-operation throughout the school community. We also have strong partnerships with other local schools through our SEND cluster and external agency partners including Early Years SEND team, Kirklees Outreach Teams, Educational Psychologists and Kirklees Keeping in Mind. This ensures we are accessing the appropriate advice and support for each individual child’s needs.
In November 2024, Ofsted reported that: ‘this is a highly inclusive school. Every pupil is welcome and valued as a unique individual. Adults support pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) well.’
Meet Our SENDCo
Meet Our SENDCo Team
Mrs Lord is our school Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator (SENDCo).
We have a team of staff working to support pupils with SEND. Mrs Green, Miss Rimmer and Mrs France are all working alongside our SENDCo to provide support and guidance to pupils and parents/carers.
Should you wish to discuss any concerns or worries that you have about your child with a member of the SEND team, please contact the school office on 01924 767066 and they will put you in touch with the most appropriate person.
