Catering at Headlands School
It is very important for all young people to eat a healthy, balanced diet and Kirklees Catering Service takes this responsibility very seriously.
Our school cook, Karen, approaches every day with a loving smile and ensures that she meets every child’s dietary needs. Children who choose school dinners, will have the choice of four options on a morning including at least one vegetarian option. The menu is available upon request from the school office. There are also fun spotlight days on cuisines from around the world! These days offer the children an opportunity to try new things! Karen and her team are always happy to accommodate individuals on these days in keeping with our inclusive school approach. The children will also be supported by Mrs Munton, our beloved lunchtime lead, alongside her caring lunchtime supervision team.
The price for a school meal is £2.85 and this is paid via the ParentPay app or via the ParentPay website. You can see our current menus at the bottom of this page.
Please note: Children are able to change from packed lunch to school dinners without any notice, they will just need to select a meal on the smart board in the classroom on a morning.
Free School Meals
All children in Key stage 1 are currently entitled to Universal Free School Meals. If you are on a low income and receive certain benefits you may be eligible for Statutory Free Meals, which also entitles children to free school milk, for more information go to the Free School Meals page on the Kirklees Council website (via the button below) or ask the school office for a form to complete.
